The series consists of video recordings that were recorded by the White House Communications Agency off the air or from direct White House feeds. They include television appearances by President Lyndon B. Johnson, special news broadcasts, news interview programs, and, beginning April 1, 1968, daily morning and evening news programs, network and local. Also included are recordings of network television programs for viewing by the Johnsons, notably "Gunsmoke" for the First Lady Lady Bird Johnson.
